Fitting a real 96Z28 SS or 97 SS intake.

I just bought a different ram air intake box from a board member. It is a real Z28 SS intake. The one I have been using is an aftermarket one from Suncoast hoods. The real one is a nice, bigger size. Uses clips and just looks a lot better.

Well,
It doesn't want to fit so nicely because of the vertical EGR tube by the driver side head. I am wondering if the 96-97 SS has a different tube to accommodate this airbox. It looks like I have to cut that EGR tube an inch or two.

Do you mean the vertical tube for the AIR system on the driver's side exhaust manifold? The only EGR tube is the one on the passenger side that connects the #8 runner to the back of the intake manifold.

maybe its called the AIR system. I have the pipe coming off my driver side header with a hose on it that connects to a vertical shiny pipe. I am wondering if the z28 SS or 97 ss was different somehow.
- I dont really have to worry about emissions, but there might be a time when I have to.

Anyway, no big deal, I just finished cutting the pipe down and all is good now. I borrowed one of those knuckle pipe cutters, so I was able to do it on the car.
