First time at track with LT1/M6 swapped Camaro

We took the Wife's LT1/M6 Camaro to the track for runday sundays exelent weather.

I was shooting for some 13.40-13.50s.

The first run I let the clutch out a little too quick and bogged out of the hole bad. The second one I slipped it a little more and it came out slightly better. After that I raised the launch rpm a little and slipped it a little more. after that I was ready to bracket race the car, lol.

Here are the slips:

R/T......002 ......056 .........243........041.........219
60ft.....2.57......2.26.........2.02 ......2.07........2.11
330.....6.19......5.87 .........5.57......5.60........5.64
1/8......9.12......8.83.........8.50 ......8.51........8.56
MPH....84.51.....83.66......84.74......85.09...... 84.8
1000...11.64....11.37.......11.01......11.01...... 11.07
1/4......13.76....13.51......13.12......13.12......1 3.19
MPH....106.93...106.01...107.1......107.19.....106 .87

The car runs pretty good for the minimal mods (recently dynoed 292/321):
Pacesetter Longtubes
O/R Y pipe
Magnaflow cat back
K&N CAI
CSR EWP

It still has a stock clutch, and 10 bolt with 3.42s.

I was on 16" MT DR's, but launched it very easy due to the stock 10 bolt.
I plan on gettin a stout clutch and rear end with some 4.10's ASAP and shooting for a 12 with a good launch!

Pretty good for the first time out. I have gone high 1.8s on DRs with the stock rear and its still doing alright. Just have to slip the clutch like you are doing instead of dumping it.

Wow look at those 60 times. I bet if you get a little more agressive with the launch it would et alot better. Good times for your first outing with the m6.

...as long as the 10-bolt doesn't file a formal complaint.

great times, and trapping really well for what's done to it. great job on the dead-nuts consistency too - that's hard to do in an M6.

Not the first outing with an M6, just the first outing in this car. (I guess I could have worded the title differently, lol) I've driven quick 6 spd cars before:

The 10 bolt is the entire reason that I launched it so softly. I am positive I could have gotten better 60 foot time with a more agressive launch, but I was not about to hitch a ride home with Triple A!

I am working on putting a rear in the car ASAP. I probably wont run it again until then (the next time it hits the track, my Wife will get her turn in the car) . With a good clutch and rear, I'll bolt up the slicks and skinnies and see what I can really get out of it.

After I get the most out of it with the power it is making, I plan on going full bolt ons, Cam, tune, and maybe mix a little N20 into the deal.
