First Scan with freeScan - help?

This is the first time I have scanned my '94Z so bear with me. Couple of codes listed so let's look at them first.

#84 - 3-2 Downshift feedback fault (ODM)
#33 - MAP Sensor High

Any ideas and feedback. Also, I had some diagnostic/sensor numbers and these may or may not be of any help so let me know what you think.

Scaled Volts A/D
MAT 41.0 2.12 Ox6C
Baro Pres 1.022 4.88 OxF9
MAP Bar 0.635 2.82 Ox90

I'm sure it will take a while to learn the workings of FreeScan. Thanks for your help!

Wow, the first time you have scaned it with all of those mods, anyway the code 84 has to do with the skip shift, i have mine disabled so it throws that code, not sure about the map high code, maybe there is something in the tuning messing with that.

Re: First Scan with freeScan - help?

You need to get the correct code list.... one that includes both the A4 and M6 definitions. As noted above, on the M6, DTC 84 sets because the skip shift solenoid is disconnected. It can be eliminated with a 2.2Kohm 1/2 watt resistor in the connector. The code definition you listed is for the A4. Both Shoebox's and my online LT1 code lists show both A4 and M6 definitions.

DTC 33 generally sets (if memory serves me correctly) when the MAP is above 68kPa at idle. This can happen when you run a big cam, or have a bad valve adjustment.

Your sensor readings are:

IAT sensor: 41.0degF, 2.12Volts
Barometric pressure (measured by the MAP sensor): 102.2kPa, 4.99Volts
MAP sensor: 63.5kPa, 2.82Volts.

You can find some guidance on the sensor reading in my online ScanMaster writeup:

Yea, my skip shift is eliminated also. I didn't know it would throw a code. Injuneer, will check the other code and the readings on your post. The biggest reason I ask is because I have been wrestling with a major miss for a while and can't seem to locate it. Fuel pressure reads OK and all the other checks I've made have been OK. Would the MAP code reading affect this???
Thanks for your help!!!
