First races with new set up..do these times suck??
Like it says.. check out my mods and tell me if my times suck or what. It was really consistant and it was bracket racing so I ended up getting second place and winning some cash, but I thought it would be faster.
1994 LT1 A4 with 3.73 and 98+ SLP takeout posi.
It has new stock short block..LT4 hot cam kit with upgraded springs.. fresh stock heads that were pro port and polished. I don't have flow #s but they should be pretty good, port matched intake, Accel 24# injectors, Accel ignition, SLP CIA, vortec elbow, CC shorty headers and out a 3"cutout. Tuning by PCMforless.
Traction is no problem.. Mac torque arm, tubular rear LCAs. tri-angular SFCs, M/T ET street 26x11.5x16.. All kinds of other stuff..
Here's one of the average time slips for the 1/8
reaction... .558
60 ft .... 2.017
MPH...... 82.71
ET.... 8.686
does that seem right??
One thing I do know is the PCM is programed for 4.10 gears still and I went to 3.73s. It goes to 7K before it shifts and the Hotcam seems to lose power 6300- 6500. And I don't have the stall in yet so the launches were from pretty much idle.
I would sure love some input from you guys. Sorry the post is so long I just wanted to give as much info as possible. THANKS....

The low trap speed is more than likely related to running 3.73 gears when you have a tune for 4.10's. I would definitely look into traction, if you are not breaking loose, then you need to launch harder. Your 60 should be a maximum of a 1.9 in my opinion. After all, there are people cutting 1.9's on street tires with the stock suspension.
Have you run autotap on there? A dyno could tell us where you are peaking in hp. Im sure a 355 is not making much power above 6500rpm. You can be losing mph up in those higher rpms. 82 is getting there and I know those heads and that cam should be taking you through the traps at least 85. Get some data from the PCM and post it up.
Thanks for all the info guys. Unfotunatly I don't have any way to record any data yet, but I am going to look into it soon.
I wasn't spining at all on the lauches, but I was going from about a 700rpm idle. The stock converter is tight and my breaks must suck because if a bring it up to 1200 I start to over power the brakes. (they seem to work well other then this).
Then when the car gets to 6300 in first you feel way less pull for a second until it finally shifts at about 7000. I know I'm losing alot there.
I was pretty disapointed by the times, but hey it was consistant and won me some cash.
My plan right now is to find a 2800 stall converter, Get the PCM redone for the 3.73s, and install a 100 shot of nitrous.
What kind of time do you guys think I should pull then?? Also what should it be doing now?
Thanks again for all the info guys.

Something is not right. I ran a 8.5 with a dinky cc304 @ 83mph Get the ECU reprogramed for the 4.10, get a dyno tune on it, and work on that 60ft. Good luck. Oh and tues. my 96 Z28 A4 went 8.8 @ 80 on a 2.2 60ft, with just k/n, airfoil, cutout, !MAF screen and CSI. Something to think about.
When you get the PCM redone for the 3.73 gears I would also lower your shift points. However, without a dyno pull it is really hard to know how much to lower them. Look around on the board or post a new topic and try to find someone who has a similar setup with dyno results. Then adjust you shift poitns according to there results. It's far from perfect, but it should definitely be better than shifting at 7grand, and nicer on the valvetrain. Good luck.
You are not launching hard enough, dont stall it all the way up like that, you are just preloading it and making it launch softer. The MPH probally sucks because of the tires and 7000 RPM shifts. You keep turning it 7000 RPM's on a stock bottom end and you will be buying a new one, thats if something in the valvetrain dosent give out first. The best I got with my mild ported heads and LT4 Hot Cam setup with a 6 speed and Nitto's was a 8.008@89.63 MPH with a 1.97 60 ft. My best MPH was 90.03. That was running rich with the stock programming with the stock rev limiter. You need a converter and to get the shift points set!
