First LT1 with experimental muffler :)
First LT1 with experimental muffler :)
Well I went in to get a temporary crapmaster replacement muffler until I'm ready for true duals and Speedway Muffler brought to my attention an experimental muffler that had never been mounted.... so new it doesn't even have a name but I know it was made by amco manufacturing (I know sounds cheesy but hear me out!). So I agreed since this muffler was made of t304 stainless steel and I'd be the only person to have it... not to mention they would swap for a flow 30 days down the road if i don't like it.
All I have to say is WOW
The sound is amazing.... VERY throaty with minimal popping. Test results are as follows:
4500rpms = 105db
redline rev = 107db
drive-by 35mph/ 2500rpms = 86db
I'm going to see if i can take it to the track and see how my times look since my car is pretty much stock otherwise. The muffler is a 3" in/dual 2.5" out to 3 1/2" single slash cut tips. There aren't any jaw-dropping performance gains that i can feel thus far but like i said, for a simple muffler replacement this sounds amazing and i'm the only person in the country that has it
i'll try to get some sound clips up.
Oh and almost forgot, the muffler is planned to sell for $210+ if it is released and I got it installed for $149 total (not including other work i had done or tips). If I choose to keep this muffler in 30 days, I also get a $50 rebate for being the test dummie
Grand total= $99 installed
$220 with other work added to it

well it's just a muffler swap with a 3" I-pipe and different tips so there isn't all that much to be happy with but for a muffler... i do love it! and it's 10db louder then the law allows so thats cool
