First Dyno Numbers

Well, a local shop had a dyno day today and I finally had a chance to dyno the Z28. First time strapped down, never at the strip yet, so I had no idea where I was with the car.

Here's the details. '96 Z28, M6, just under 108,000 miles, fresh Delco plugs and O2 sensors, SLP CAI, SLP clutch/flywheel, and Dynomax catback. Otherwise with just some suspension mods, it's bone stock.

Three pulls were done on a Mustang dyno, set up for Dynojet. I'm getting specifics emailed, but best read numbers were 297hp/325lb-ft.

Questions, comments???

Sounds like a generous dyno. I would guess you should be at about 280rwhp with those mods. Get it to the track and let us know what you run.

I bet these numbers are not SAE corrected. Ask the operator if they are. If you had really good weather conditions when you dyno'd it will make your dyno numbers much higher.

Yeah, I would guess 270 rwhp the the catback and CAI. Looks very generous compared to most.

Mustang setup as a dynojet? Details?
