Question First baseline dyno, A/F rich?

Just got back from a little trip to Kingsport TN, where I got my car dyno'd. With my only mods being K&N CAI, and a Hooker cat-back, I put down 258 rwhp and 298.4 rwtq on my first run. Second run I put down 258.9/296.5. While these numbers aren't too bad, the operator at the dyno mentioned that I was running pretty rich with just a little below 11:1 A/F ratio.

My question is, what should I be at A/F ratio-wise, and could it be caused by failing ignition components not igniting all the fuel?

Here's a link to my graph.

Yea, that's pretty rich...lean it out a little more and you'll see a little bit more power.

Ignition looks a little funny, kind of looks my my dyno graph..

Yep have it programed. It would also be a good idea to change your plugs, wires, and O2's if you have not already. This will help you be more lean.

I changed the plugs/wires/coil/o2's in the last couple of months, but I think that the crappy coil that I bought is already arcing.

Just got my re-tuned PCM in the mail yesterday from Madwolf, but I didn't get it untill after the dyno. I'm sure that'll lean it out some, but I think the real problem is a failing ignition component somewhere. My opti is probably flirting with death with the mileage on it and the fact it's constantly soaked in oil.

Brandon,
that graph looks like what the average stock/bolt-on LT1 on a stock tune will dyno. So I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, especially since my tune WILL lean it out to or close to where it should be, and that is 13 to 1.

I'm sorry to hear about the PCM not arriving in time. As you've probably noticed, it was shipped out on the day I promised it would be and it is overnight, so it was not our fault.

The one thing I do notice on your graph is knock retard. I'd highly recommend an LT4 knock module even though I did desensitize it some.

Thanks man, I know it wasn't your fault, the post office was closed Friday. I really appreciate you getting it tuned and in the mail so fast. As soon as I get off work Monday, I'll have my PCM in the mail for ya.

As for the knock retard, my Scanmaster showed 0 retard from the time he floored it to when he let off. I think my arcing coil probably was to blame for that choppy line in the high rpm's, not to mention the ancient, oil-drowned opti.

One of the guys there was taking pics of everyones cars, and posted them here. My car is the LT1 with 125 miles of highway gunk from the trip up there, and slick front tires in dire need of replacement.
