Why do you need to find TDC, and how accurate a measurement do you need?

For a "crude" measurement, one of the "whistles" that screws into a plug hole will work. If you need a more accurate measurement, you can bring #1 as close as possible to TDC, and release a valve to drop on top of the piston, then put a dial indicator on the valve, rotating either way until you get the 0.100" drop in both directions, and marking the center point between those extremes as TDC. Don't rotate it too far, or you will be removing the head to retrieve the valve.

Do you already have your crank hub removed or something?
Is the engine apart? You could pull the timing cover to look at the timing mark's. Other than that I would just think you could use a piston stop but those thing's look kindy scary to me
