finally made it to the track this year hypertec is junk
Well before the true duals, long tubes, tci streetfighter torque converter, shift kit, and swithing from 4:10's to 3:73's I ran a best of 13.8. with 2.0? 60 ft times and 8.8 1/8 mile times. Saturday I ran 1.7 60 foot times all day, and ran consistant 13.4's for a few runs then I removed the hyperjunk power tuning and pulled consistant 13.3's just thought I'd let you all know. I also did some suspension work since my last run relocation brackets, lca's, eibach pro kit and a 1" rear sway bar, also a right rear air bag. still on the stock motor except for 1.5 roller rockers. soon to come gm 847. later

most people agree that the hypertech tuning is junk. They have no value unless you want to adjust for gears, tires, or fan settings, but they aren't worth the $300. For the price you would pay for one you could have everything you need to tune on your own.

Tristate dragway I like that track because its the only one around that will allow my convertible to run 13's without a roll cage. I believe I will go with madwolf when I put the cam in as soon as we see freezing rain or snow bolts will start flying and the cam and 1.6 rockers will go in. So I hope I will see a solid 12 next year and I'm thinking if I have the money maybe I'll throw a 100 or a 150 shot on it and see some good 11 second runs.

the hypertech reprogrammer will give you the help and gains it says on a stock car but it will not help you if you have lots of mods. If you have mods and use the hypertec progam then you will actually lose. Once yhou have mods, the only thing that it is good for is gears, tires, etc...

Re: finally made it to the track this year hypertec is junk
forgot to say I ran the old times on bfg drag radials, and the latest times on and almost worn out set of hoosier quicktimes. I dont have any engine mods so I figured the hypertec would give me something but I guess not. I figured on 13.1 to 13.2 by going by everyone else on heres mods and track times, but I guess elevations and weather are different.

NHRA rules say that a convertible must have a 4 point roll cage to run faster than 13.99 through the quarter. Also I think I would just feel better about the way I run my car hard with a roll cage. And it will see 12's next year with the cam and possibly nitrous so maybe 11's

I will be installing a cam and a bunch of other mods here this summer. Take a look at my website http://camaroz28.cardomain.com/id/skibbe_96z . And in all actuality, the rollcage even helped in the bolt on car. I know this because I owned another one before i bought this one.
