402rwHP through an A4 (~470 flywheel HP) on stock heads and stock exhaust manifolds.

If you're making 402 rwHP with only a cam, stock heads, and no headers, just think what well ported heads, and headers would do.

Is this the same vehicle you were describing in this post:

ok well sorry, there not stock manifolds...but they are headers that was on it when i bought the car back in may, are the ones on it. they do not rise up then fall down like the stock ones do, but they look like shorties, very rusted bad idea? and when we rebuilt the motor in sept. (when it hit 100,000) the headers didn't quiet want to cooperate i dont think they are the right headers for the LT1, they do not have the "d" ports but instead a really awkward square looking port. the y-pipe is really rusty but again it is not the stock one. this is why i am asking about which headers, and what to do to my intake and heads? like the guys said the dynomax muffler blew out not even 100 miles down the road after i got the new stuff installed, i'm guessing too much hot air must have burned it out. so i got my stock cat. gutted it and got custom exhaust back to the dynomax muffler then out with dual 3 1/2 inch rolled magnaflow tips.

i will post the dyno when i get my scanner instaalled on my computer, but right now i am at work, kinda a layed back job.

Wow, that was a quick install. Wasn't it just a few weks ago you were asking which rockers to use with the cam you had purchased?

BTW: Which springs did you end up going with? Did the Lunati springs work out for you?

You should probably change your signature then (RWHP = Rear Wheel Horse Power)

Thomas.

no when i did the dyno the motor was in the car. lol. but yeah it was a fast install took a solid 10 hour day. instead of dropping the motor, k member and all, we just removed the front clip, radiator, water pump..... and installed everything then.

i got a cam, valve springs, roller lifters, ported heads, 3.73 gears, and now waiting to see which roller rockers would be best. i will not be doing the installing though...i will only be watching and learning. want to install everything at one time though.
So.... is it possible you also have ported heads?

How did you get flywheel HP with the "motor was in the car"? Did you actually do a chassis dyno, and then back calculate the flywheel HP by assuming a drivertrain loss? What drivetrain loss did you assume?

in chevy high porformance mag. i did some research on the loss of rwhp. they suggested with an lt1 car 93 to 96 about 18% loss from crank. thing about the heads one had a massive crack in it. i didn.t think that was possible but i found out quick. got some more stock ones to out on it. so i am just wondering if the port and polishing is worth the time and money. along with the intake. if it is not worth the price you pay to get them ported and polished i will leave them stock. yeah a lot of the stuff i said before has changed. when we broke everything down last week we found alot of stuff that needed fixing unfortunately, payed alot more than i wanted to in that install. but i guess it is definatly worth it everything is good and running stronger than ever now. so i have layed 330 RWHP and 366 RWT. if there is anything else you guys need to know to help me out please just keep asking. you are helping me out too
