Finally got some track time w/ my LE2 cam/head setup...
It was only @ the local 1/8 mile.. And mind you my car is full weight plus a 6 point roll bar and added weight from stereo and running w/ my Baer's/17x9 ZR1's up front ~ 3720#'s according to the scales.
Best run of the day was a 7.73@91mph. Cut a 1.75 60'. This week stock brakes are going back up front, along w/ some weight reduction and even borrowing a set of skinnies from a friend. Gonna hit up the local 1/4 mile track on friday night, and even gonna squeeze on some nitrous for 10 seconds or so
.
All in all, I'm pretty happy. Considering all of last year I had a heck of a time getting out of the 7.9X-8.0X area. This is definitely a marked improvement.
As it sits, on a 1/4 mile track that would've been good for a high 11.9, prolly a 12.doh due to the low MPH. But nothing a little diet can't help alleviate

Re: Finally got some track time w/ my LE2 cam/head setup...
congrats!
i agree, the low trap is probably just cause of the weight.
head to the 1/4 with some stickier tires and i bet you rip some 11s.

Dang, I have been trying to decide on heads and a cam or some kind of forced induction and you might have helped me decide. Looks like the LE2 setup is working well for you. What kind of bottom end are you running? do you have any dyno numbers?
TIA

Actually, 91 mph is not a bad mph for those times.
When I was running high 11's, I was hitting 7.5's@91 in the 1/8 with 115-116 mph traps.
Not to shabby.

I'm running 4.10's through a KTRE 12 bolt. As far as suspension goes, QA1 12 way adjustable shocks @ all four corners, w/ DMS lowering springs in the rear, but it's pretty slammed. I still like the car to look good when sitting still
.
The short block is a "budget" build I guess you could say. Just has Speedpro/TRW forged pistons, and stock crank /rods. In fact, my top end probably cost twice what the bottom end did. hehe
.
Dyno numbers from my last trip to the dyno were 380rwhp / 360 rwtq . My car's never been a dyno queen though, and if you compare the track ET/MPH/car weight to the dyno numbers, it doesn't exactly add up. A more accurate guess would be around 400ish rwhp / maybe 380rwtq? Just got to get to another dyno for comparison's sake.

Thanks for bursting my bubble
... j/k
I'll get the giggly juice flowing and those traps will be closer to 130mph in a couple days

Re: Finally got some track time w/ my LE2 cam/head setup...
With the intake on these motors it's not dam bad. You would get someplace with tuining I would guess..... BTW I'm always a little light on what power numbers are based on MPH and weight. Someone told me today I was off 45hp at the crank from what I expected, it's 6 1/2% so it could be 450-475 easily. The math seems to really work on dedicated drag race cars and always low on street cars.
