im so happy i finally got the kit installed! took a while, but the job wasnt too bad! just took my time. this was the first time i have EVER done anything like this! what an experience! anyways... got her started this morning! started right up! let her sit running for like 10 min... filling up coolant and letting all the oil i spilled burn off everything. well i took it for a drive and everything felt good. kept it under 3000 though. rockers seem pretty loud, im going to have to redo them again.

all seems good till i pull back into the driveway.... and i see a bunch of oil on the ground so i pulled the car up and let it run for a while, backed it up and checked for oil... just a drop. so im thinking maybe the oil on the ground was just from the first start up?? the oil pressure was real good at first, but then seemed to get a little low, then i ended up shutting it off because i didnt want to run the risk of losing all the pressure! so all in all im extremely happy i got her running! but also know i have a lot of work still ahead!! thanks for all the info! couldnt have done it without you guys and this board!

 

Well, we cleaned up before we started the car to avoid mixing up a new and old leak.. but at first the car was leaking a bit from the bottom of the timing cover via the oil pan gasket.

I've since added a bit of RTV to the bottom border and it's held "so far".. we'll see.. it's just dripping like one drop every 2 days, not worth swapping the oil pan gasket quite yet to me.
