Finally got on a dyno...

Well I finally got on a dyno and here is the graph!

Not very good numbers since I was on a Mustang dyno and I don't know what it translates over to on a Dynojet? All my mods are in my sig. Also the guy doing the runs didn't rev it high enough as you can see. I don't know why he didn't but that was his decision. I think there is a little more left in her with a better tune so I'm gonna see what Ion (madz28) has to say. Hopefully pretty soon I'll make it down to TSP and get on their Dynojet with a new tune and see what REAL numbers I put up. I ended up with 285 hp, 311 tq, and was revved to about 5200.

Looks like you're running rich up 'till about 4400 rpm. Beautiful TQ curve. It seems to fall off more than I would expect in the higher RPM's though. Maybe he was already letting off causing the numbers to drop so much. I would expect the HP to peak a good 500 rpm higher. Same with the TQ.

Yeah, there's definately more in it.

Soon I will be going to TSP and get a a few pulls on the Dynojet and we will rev it to at least 6k to see if it falls off or continues to climb.

Wow, half a dyno. I'd have been pissed. That only shows the lower RPM power you make. You have no idea the true peak power you make, plus higher rpms or the more important part of the dyno. I would NEVER go there again.

It peaked at 5,100-5,200rpm.... what do you think it would look like at 5,800? It's only going to drop off more.

The guy driving let off way too early I think! Its cool though like I said TSP is doing it next so it can only get better.

The engine had already nosed over, I would have cut the dyno run short there too.

Sure isn't making much power for the mods you have listed in your sig.

i would do a complete tune up. You have an issue thats holding back your car from what it should really make which is 310-330rwhp. I dont know why your power is falling off so early. Most people with that cam are shifting at 6k plus.

I wonder if you have the cam pretty advanced in addition to maybe some tune issues. The curve has a normal look to it, but is just lacking in overall power and is giving up way to early..

Did you degree the cam?

Do all Mustang Dyno torque curves look that weird?

Take it to the track and see what it runs, that will tell you the power it makes, you never know with those Mustang load dyno's - the operator can enter the wrong values and really mess up the numbers. I trust my Dynojet because it repeats in the single HP range, and cannot be swayed by the operator.

Did he only make one run?

Nice torque curve, although there is a problem.

I honestly don't see a problem besides that the guy let off early. Mustang dynos are usually 20-30 HP off from a dynojet anyway so I'm up there like I should be. Like I said I will be at TSP soon and will post that graph too but it will be up to at least 6k.

Here is a quote from another guy on ls1tech on his numbers.
"Well to give you some insight. I did 264/299 on a MD and then 324/316 on a Dyno Jet."

I'd say it looks about right for what it is. We ran a bone stock 95 z28 on a MD and it made 224hp so picking up 60rwhp sounds about right for a cam, throttle body and CAI.
