finally figured out my opti problem

and instead of being happy, well now im pissed lol
i was having the same problem alot of people where, the car would run horrible beneth like 3 grand so i pulled the opti and sure enough my bearing in the back of my opti was siezed enought that i couldnt turn it with my hand, apperantly i made the common mistake of not checking my dowel length when i put the cam in and it ground a perfect circle into the recess that it fits into the opti so it was a bit too long, i got a new opti and went to put it on and just as the opti slid over the dowel pin something didnt feel right and sure enough my dowel pin had broken off! now i didnt force the opti on or anything, i've replaced it many times before and know how they go on,
it broke off maybe 1/8 of an inch into the cam, and before i try messing with it or before i pull it again to take it to a machine shop or replace it has anyone ever had this happen before and what are your fixes? im kind wary to just drill it out, and i dont want to waste time taking it to a machine shop if the dowel pin hole got kinda reamed out from the pin wobbling in it
so what do i need to do?
Thanks guys

I see your choices as taking it to a machine shop and seeing what they can do and if they cannot fix it, replace the cam.

if it needs a cam, why replace the lifters?

a machine shop will hopefully be able to replace the broken dowel

I would send the cam to the manufacturer for repair like that.
