A few problems after I've completed my LT-4 conversion

Well I'm no mechanic so its taken me about 6 days to complete my LT-4 conversion........Now that its finished I've got a few problems.....

I let the wife start it and it cranked right up........checked the gauges and no oil pressure.....wiggled the sending unit and she said that it moved up and down a little bit but not much........since I had it apart for a week.....and it is very likely that bugs and such got into the motor and are it the oil pan now causeing the screen to be clogged.......So when I change the oil sending unit and the pressure doesn't go up to where it should be then I'm going to assume that it is a clogged screen....how do you fix that.....and do i have to pull that entire 90* elbow out to change that sending unit..or just the round plastic piece....

The other thing is ........I've lost my temperature sending unit plug wire..LOL...where did it go? Good ? right.......Just wondering where that wire goes into the wiring harness at so I can track it down.

I also keep hearing of a break in period for this mod.....i.e. let the enging run at 1500 RPM for about 30 minutes to let everything break in before it gets driven.....

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.........

If it wern't for everyone's info on this site I would have paid $1800 for the job....Thanks guys

I really doubt "bugs" clogged the pump pickup screen. Maybe some huge gobs of RTV.... but not bugs. I'd be suspicious of the pump drive shaft, since its driven off the cam.

I say that the driveshaft gear thingy isnt meshed with the cam or you forgot to put it back in.

I doubt the screen is clogged with bugs, and rtv wouldnt have had time to get down to the screen if you only ran it for a bit.
