Felpro 9966 head gaskets causing pushrod misalignment

I recently received my motor back from the builder and had started to install the push rods and rocker arms when I noticed an alignment problem. The builder used the Felpro 9966 head gaskets, which include holes cut into the gasket for the push rods. (Note, builder installed my LE2 heads as well). These holes don't seem to be in the correct location, and are pushing the push rods over to one side, which is causing the rods to hug one side of the alignment plate and also causing the rocker arm to not be centered on the valve tip. Is there any reason why I couldn't cut away the gasket material around the push rods to help fix this problem? Any chance that the gaskets were installed incorrectly?

Most of us here run the FelPro 1074's. I have no issues with my 1074's and just read the 9966's do not have the correct cooling passage design/diameter either... food for thought.

Not sure if they've changed the design since, but here's a post from '03 about it:

Thanks for the reply. I think I'm going to pull them off and replace with the 1074s Do you know if the 1074 gaskets have holes for the push rods or if they are cut away so that they don't come near the rods?
