fbody going the drain
fbody going the drain
after 3000 rpm my car seems to start having transmission slippage. is there any way that my car may have a rev limiter set at 3000rpm. and after a lot of road racing in my car it starts to bog down.what could be the problem.
i am sure he ment "not set at 3000"
If it isnt your trany stoping you at 3k i would change ur fuel filter and get your fuel presure checked.
If the tranny is slipping and the fluid isnt low then it is time for a new one...
After road racing it heats up and could be causing ur wires to arch, and maybe messing with the ignition moduel.
Take a look at your plug wires in the dark (really dark) and see if you can see them sparking any where if they are its time for some new wires.

well i just changed my fuel filter like 200 miles ago. and the wires and plugs havent been changed since a yr ago.(i believe)someone told me it could be a torque converter.becuase when the car shifts sometimes it seems like the right rear tire is grinding or something.like something in loose in there.
and i will check the transmission oil now.only thing is i dont know which kinda oil to get.?cause i dont know what was add when we bought the car in 2000.and since 2000 i havent added tranny oil in. any suggestion.o i have a a4 tranny.

i checked the tranny oil and its full. i checked my cat converter and it pass emission but parts are broken in the inside.plus i know that my plugs and wires are gonna. do u think that the plugs or the cat could be causing me to bog down and not hit rev limiter? any opinions would be helpful.thanks
Find a shop to gut your cats and then go buy some new plugs and plug wires,
Get a shop to take alook at your tranny. If you are hearing grinding from the back of the car your rear might be on its way out

y gutt the cat. and what plugs and wires would be best for a daily driven car but also road race on a daily bases?and since stuff is broken in the cat doesnt that seem already gutted.and will the gutt cat pass emission in houston tx.?
probably won't pass emissions, but it depends on how the engine runs. Pull your plugs and check the platinums and procelain. My car missed like woah at about 3 grand. It needs wires and plugs. gutting your cat would only be done to see if that it the problem, and since you said it is already broken, you shoudln't mind letting it go to see if it is the problem. If you hear grinding in the rear of the car, it isn't the trans, but more likely the rear end. check th plugs, do the dark test, have you cat gutted, and go from there. I would assume that the grinding fromt he rearend is a different problem and isn't linked to your low rev limit.
well i know i need plugs which i will replace with ngks but besides that . what about the slippage at 3000rpm.could this be the torque converter or the plugs.or maybe the injectors.thanks
