FAST and LT1 harness questions

Hi all I have a few simple FAST questions in regard to LT1 cars. First off I have an 87 Monte Carlo SS that I want to drop an LT1 in and run a single turbo setup. My question is I will be running FAST for engine manegment and for those that are doing the same does the FAST ECU replace the factory ECU and plug into the stock harness or does it piggy back the stock ecu? I dont care about retaining any of the factory ecu functions. Also if your running a cranktrigger system instead of the optispark how much does that usaly run? thanks

The FAST harness is stand-alone, and does not require the factory ecm or harness. Some vendors sell an interface (piggy-back) harness that retaines the factory ECM/harness, but I would advise against that for what you're doing.

Are you sure you want to use a FAST system? Have you considered using a Accel Gen7 system? Its much better, and easier to program. Plus datalogging, and diagnostics is much faster and better. But the drawback is it is a little more $$$ But you get what you pay for.
