Are you sure the temp sensor is working?

If you are reading the temp with Datamaster and still the fans don't come on when they are programmed, then I guess it must be a PCM issue (not very common). A spare PCM would be handy at this point. Make sure you are not getting hosed up between F and C in the temp settings.

Everything I have learned about the 4th gen was after I bought my used Z in 1998. I did work at a dealer parts dept when I got out of high school, but that was in the early 70's. I am working occasionally, having retired early from my "career" job in telecommunications.

i would replace the temp switch on the driverside head. it controlls the fans and i have had several burn up. i guess because of the exhaust manifold/ header being right there

That sensor goes to the gauge only and has nothing to do with the computer or fans. The one in the water pump sends the temp to the computer.

well my wiring must me backwards then because if i unplug the one on the water pump i have no gauge.

i know what your talking about because my 93 camaro was how you said but the 95 t/a is like this. also did you look on my thread about the map problem i posted earlier.
