oh alright I wasn't sure if you could do that with a 93.

just checked it, just good old code 12

what could be wrong if the 2 right hand heat settings are engaging my A/C and drivers side fan?

I took it to auto zone to see if it would scan any codes. of course, their scanner was broken but they said if there hasn't been a SES light going on, it most likely won't show anything anyways.

One thing I did notice was, if I turn the heat off, they operate normally. Even on the 2 middle vent settings they are fine. But when it's on the 2 right side heat settings, the fans turn on immediately. Hmm?
2 middle vent settings, they are fine....you're referring to the vent (face) and heater (floor). Fan should be off until proper fan turn on temp.

If you're referring to the 2 right side heat settings (defog and defrost), then your fan will turn on. They run the A/C and the radiator fans when the temp outside is above 4 degrees C. (40 degrees F). Since it was probably colder than this outside in Michigan back in March, your fans were staying off.

The A/C will click on and off when the outside temperature is too cold. Not enough pressure in the system when it's cold outside. It protects the A/C from too low of pressure (I believe)

EDIT: I see you have a 93 which had a different cooling fan setup (1 and/or the other fan on/off) from the later models (both on or both off)

Re: Fans on way too early

If the compressor is kicking in in the two heat settings you describe the fan will ALWAYS kick on due to the flag in the PCM for "A/C request" being set to true. Is this the defrost position or defrost and floor position ?
The A/C compressor is ONLY off in FLOOR ONLY or VENT ONLY position even if the heat **** is in full HOT.

Re: Fans on way too early

just buy a toggle switch and 10' of wire, take the hot wires from both fan motors and run the switch through the firewall and mount in under your dash, easy $5 fix
