fans not kicking on...ECT sensor maybe

my fans dont kick on at all. both motors work (i tested them). from what i can see all the wiring is fine, but the sealant around the ECT sensor looks a little exessive so maybe its not getting a good ground? or maybe its dead completely? either way ill be replacing it in the next day or two.

i switched some relays and nothing changed. ill replace them just to be sure tho.

also my fans DONT kick on when i turn on the AC. my R-134a should be at a decent level, i charged it in the fall but it may have leaked out or something.

i know the fans SHOULD kick on when the AC is on, which is why im making this thread. if they dont kick on during the AC what does this mean? what causes this?

had THE ABSULUTE SAME PROBLEM not 2 weeks ago, same thing, fans worked, didnt come on with ac, after replacing the coolant temp sensor, didnt work, took it to a electrician, turned out to be a computer temp control sensor. hope that helps

so is that a problem with the PCM itself?

the last owner of the car had this problem too but he ghetto rigged it with a temp switch that bypasses the PCM, when the ghetto temp probe he rigged up reaches a certain temp it just gives the fan (secondary) power and it comes on. it "works" i guess but i dont want to leave that crap on there.
