Fan Turn On / Temp Sensor

Is there a sensor available that will turn the fans on at a lower temperature? Part numbers would be huge. I'd go for a turn on switch, but i'm not too keen on having a fan switch should I ever decide to sell the car

Sensors don't control the fans. They only tell the computer what the temp is. You can buy fan switches that alter what temp the fans come on or you can have your computer re-programmed to lower the ON setting or you can install a fan override switch.

Check out the Jet fan switch at Summit. Works great. Turns the fans on at 180.

Or you could just spend $4 on a rocker switch and some wire and wire up your own switch. The fans still work like normal but you can turn them on whenever you want to as well.

I'd rather not have random switches all over my interior. If i were to do that I would run it direct to a relay off my acc. so it never shuts off... kinda tacky imo.

I'd rather do it correctly.

You will also need an 8mm drain plug socket to install the sensor into the head. KD tools p/n 3322-0
I've put these in 2 LT1s, they work great.

what's the best way to get at it? I'd assume under a hoist... getting around the pass manifold from the top doesn't look too fun

The coolant temp sensor is in the drivers side head. It isn't hard to get to at all.

The sender goes into the passenger side head just rearward of the dipstick tube. You can do it from above with the drain plug socket and a breaker bar. I used a small mirror and a flashlight to locate the drain plug. Here's a pic of it installed:
