94 and up can range from many different hp range stock cobras. Yes I think you should be able to beat the overwieght 94-95 Cobra, 96-98 should beat with your mods, 99 lol those are turds, 2000 run away or get your doors blown off, 01-02 you should still win I'd hope, 03+ Cobras can never lose.

First of all 99/01's are mechanically the same after the fix..There was no 2000 Cobra made in the United States (I think austrailia got a few). There was also no 02 Cobra made.. 03/04 Cobras are the most recent 395 hp supercharged model.
Dont understand your question completely, are you comparing your modded car to stock ones? 245 hp94-95 Cobra generally run higher 14's, 96-98 305 hp Cobras run high 13's,low 14's stock. 99/01 320 hp cobra run mid to higher 13's(w/ a good driver)..and the newer supercharged 03/04's run mid to higher 12's stock...and get fast quick w/ basic mods.

If it's a 4 valve-4 cam don't bet any money on it.

hes runnin atleast mid to low 12's w/his set up. If its not a 03/04 cobra he shouldnt worry much.. a pre 03 4 valve will need either a blower or a nice shot of gas and bolt ons to take him out

NOT if it is an early one in the mid '90's. With just a FEW mods ya can get 430-450RWHP.
Used to build these cars and had the shop car with a Vortec running 8.90's all day long.(about 1200FWHP)281CID It was in a '90 notch back and the fastest 4.6 doorslammer on the planet at the time('93) Got the engines from Ford out the back door, they were test engines with dyno time and came to us disassembled. This was before they had put them in cars or trucks.

Cam change(idles like stock) TB,headers,tune,exhaust,FAI,and a MSD.

Just a FEW mods eh? Well with just a FEW mods I could slap on a turbo and put down 500rwhp. Whats your point?

My point is ya can do a few mods to the 4.6 or the same mods as the thread originator has and ya won't outrun a 4 cam----- N/A and if ya want to talk turbos look up Accufab. I raced with him when I lived in LA. John is running in the mid 6's with a 4 cam. Don't talk power adders here talk the same mods. The (idles like stock) meaning ya can't tell if they have been changed and the TB,tune, exhaust,FAI,and MSD are normal bolt ons.

First of all the 99's are turds in my opinion fix or not. The whole situation with them makes me steer clear from. There is a 2000 Cobra R, why do you think I told him not to race it? australia got a few 02's so guess there is a 02 just not in the US. Next time Ill just put 01 so the factoids dont go nutz.

Re: fairly modded 94z vs. cobra (94 ^)

1996 Cobras were an underrated 305FWHP anything prior has a 302 HO.Then they went to 320FWHP in '99 (that was advertised but most had to go back for a recall to get that much) and then back to 305FWHP in 2003 and then to 390FWHP in 2003 with the SVT supercharged 4.6.

'99's were the first with IRS and had traction control on all the time to keep from breaking the rear. Didn't matter if ya had the switch on or not. Take a '99 and put an 8.8 rear in it and it will run like it's supposed to. Been there done that more than a few times.

Ya also got to remember that the Cobra is 200+lbs lighter than an LT1

Re: fairly modded 94z vs. cobra (94 ^)

My friend had a 96 Saleen Stage 1, which is only some suspension mods and an intake I think. More cosmetic than anything.

He battled to get the thing out of the 14's and is a good driver.

He did some mods to his Contour SVT and it ran a 14.90. He is a Ford guy and even he thought it was pathetic.
