failed visual smog because of T.B. bypass!!
Re: failed visual smog because of T.B. bypass!!
I would have had words with the guy...and spoke with his supervisor about wasting $5 in fuel and an hour of your time all because he is a ****.

Bud and Demon mentioned checking out the 02's. Remember that your local Autozone store loans out tools so maybe they have a scanner available for you to use. I use Autotap software which comes in handy, too bad your too far or else I would say swing by.

I also have the TB bypass done and have never had it questioned...legit or not, that's petty of the guy to fail you for. There have been some major crackdowns in the SanDiego area in the last couple years, relating to bribing smog shops to provide phony certs, so he just might not have been comfortable with you or your car for whatever reason.

I'd be willing to bet the guy who tested your car the first time gets beaten by his wife... (at least verbally if not physically) & has no other outlet for frustration

That guy is a ****ing idiot.
I passed also at a test only station, flp long tubes, dual cats, hotcam, blower, and all. I did retain the air pump and egr connections on the headers to make it look legal. The guy was just amazed at my car, he didn't care what I had on it as long as it passed.
The first time I brought it in, it failed miserably, qualifying as a gross polluter. I retuned it, brought it back in and failed again. After that, I took the exhaust off (edelbrocks) to find a broken up cat converter. Probably from running my motor in open loop all the time. I then installed the flp's and it passed with flying colors as mentioned above.

Re: failed visual smog because of T.B. bypass!!
now when i threw the headers on i changed the o2 sensors in the headers the Ho2 sensors. so i assume that if 2 of the four sensors had a problem then the other 2 would be a reference to the ecm and throw an o2 sensor malfunction code. and since i change both the heated o2 sensors with my headers 1 year ago(1,300miles) that they should all be working right. did i explain that correctly!
Re: failed visual smog because of T.B. bypass!!
ok so i'm driving this morning and scanned my ecm and found my (HO2 sensor right bank #1) code displayed but no ses light...like i said the front two ho2 sensors were replaced 1 year 1,300 miles ago(bosch) is it malfunctioning and if so why wouldn't the ses light illuminate? thanks again.

I see many post that bosch are crap. Stay with oem ac delco.

Bummer I noticed you have OBD 2. That is much harder to pass with mods than an OBD 1 car in CA due to the extra 02's and computer monitoring the effectiveness of the cats.
