Failed Emissions! I need help.

okay, so my car failed it's emissions test with all gasses over the limit. The problem is most likely the cat, right?

The owner before me put on the borla kit, and i have a feeling he may have gutted the cat also. Anyway, i need to get a new cat, but I dont know what to get. My mechanic said that the cat is part of the Y pipe. my borla kit is also 3 inch.

The cat is welded to the Y pipe. Walker makes a good OEM typre replacement. The high performance aftermarket converters aren't as good at scrubbing emissions, but they have more relaxed levels for older cars so they might work also. Also Brown Recycling Mfg makes a good one.
