Factory Freak?

I have a 1996 Z28 six speed. I have a couple of bolt ons done but nothing major. I had it dynoed when i only had an SLP catback exhaust, and 1Le intake elbow. I was pretty amazed. I pulled 285 rwhp, and 306 ft lbs. And from 2500 rpms all the way to 6000 rpms, the torque curve was table topped. All the guys there thought i had put a high lift low duration cam in the car, but honestly i havent. Anyone else had these kind of numbers from a stock car?

Yep. See my sig. I know of two other cars too, one pulled 281rwhp ('96 WS6) and the other 284rwhp ('96 z28). Seems that some '96s and '97s put out slightly higher numbers. Could be due to the dual-cat setup too. An M6 with CAI and a good cat-back usually makes all the difference.

FWIW, my car was manufactured in April '96.

A good friend of mine's brother has a '96 Z that pulled 305/320 with an intake and a cut out. That thing is a freak.
