F-body Window Experts....please help!
At the rear of the driver's side window there is is metal bracket attached to the bottom edge of the glass. The bracket has a roller wheel on it which rides in a window guide track. This wheel has torn out of the metal bracket leaving a jagged hole in the bracket.
Question: Will I have to replace the entire window glass or can this bracket piece be purchased seperately?
This isn't exactly LT1 Tech material, but your help is greatly appreciated anyway.
Thanks,
BBURN

That roller is part of the window regulator assembly. If you can't find a way to repair it, the only other solution is to replace the regulator. Not much fun, since the window is riveted to the regulator.

I've been here for nearly 5 years now... about since the beginning. While the forum is called LT1 Tech it isn't for just LT1 engine related tech. Whether or not this forum was originally designed for only LT1 Engine tech, I don't know??? But, ever since I've been here it has been/evolved into tech questions related to the F-Body LT1 vehicle... 93 to 97 years. Corvette guys and Impala guys are welcome too for engine related questions. But just general 93-97 Camaro/Firebird tech questions which don't specifically fit in forums like Forced Induction or Nitrous are asked all the time in this forum and that is what this forum is for.
Just wanted to clear that up so newer members are confused
Thanks Brent94Z, I really didn't see a category that fit any better so I made a good assumption for once!
Well, I guess I'll have to put my engineering degree to work unless anyone else has any bright ideas.
Anyone know how much a new regulator is through GMPartsDirect or elsewhere?
Thanks,
BBURN

If the ball on the regulator arm is in good shape and does not look worn (the roller may actually be stuck on the regulator ball) you may* only need the channel. That roller is actually part of the channel and the ball on the regulator pops into it. When you get a new channel, you get a new roller as well. The channel is GM P/N 16625875 ($20.97 + Shipping) for the driver's side. You need two rivets GM P/N 12338153. ($6.50 for pack of 10 + Shipping) Some people improvise the rivets with bolts because you don't need a big pop riveter to install them. If you use bolts you want to red Loctite them and make sure that they have low profile heads and no extra length so that when the window goes up/down nothing hits.
