EXTREMLY bad vibration when i turn...Please Help.

Well i had this problem since i have got the car 7,000 miles ago. But its starting to drive me crazy again. So now that i want to figure out what it is. If i'm at a stop and turning either right or left i get a really bad vibration. My whole transmission starts to shake. But it will only do it as long as i'm giveing it gas. It does it also when i'm going slow around a turn, but not always. If i'm going fast it doesn't do it though. Any ideas on what it could be? I did it before when my tires were bald, and it still does with brand new tires. I have a poly tranny mount that is not broken. Other than that i'm open to suggestions. Thanks.

If your sure the tranny is thumping when you turn corners then I would have to say your problem is in the differential. Assuming that your clutch is ok. Remember your letting the clutch out or putting it in when turning. But if the clutch were the problem you would have straight line problems also. It has to be the diff.

Try checking it with both rear wheels off the ground. Put tranny in neutral. Try having one person hold one rear wheel while the other person turns the other rear wheel.

Good luck

Hey Drew, it might be your motor mounts are loose or broken, just another thing to check. Or maybe something in the suspension is loose.

I dunno, if it were a FWD car I'd guess a CV joint, heh.

Hey, just noticed you're in Fairfield..I'm just over in Napa. We should meet up sometime and help each other out.

Cheers,
Chris
