help with cc306

I have decided to go with the popular cc306 cam when i get my stock LT1 heads ported this march. Of course to match the cam, i am going get comp cams 1.6 pro mags, but i need to know what spring kit you guys go with. Does CC or Crane make a springs, locks, and retainers kit? or do i have to pick them out individually. This is the reason why i wanted the hotcam kit, everything came with it, but i wanted something with some more go. Also, what would be a safe RPM to take my car up to when i finally get her back together?

One question that i should know that i sadly dont, what are the stock intake/exhaust valve sizes?

feel free to shoot me some part numbers or places that you think i should take my business to.

Take a look at Comp's website. Comp Cams LT1/LT4 cams In the catalog, they list recommended parts for that cam. For example, they call for a 986 spring. That spring shows 132 lbs on seat and 280 lbs open.

I have the 987 springs which are 121 lbs on seat and 388 open with a Comp XE 230/236-112 cam.

Your best bet is to ask the manufacturer of the cam what to use. They know their product better than anyone. The problem is getting a tech rep who knows.
