Extra Wires??

Long story short, because i jsut typed it and the next page wouldn't load so now im re-typing it. Behind my brake pedal is a short wire that hangs about 3 inches above the actual pedal. You can only see it if you head is on the floor by the pedal and look up. It has 2 wires goign to a white female connector. One wire is grey, one is black/grey striped. Does anybody know what it is supposed to go to??
Thanks
Bill

Pretty sure it would go to the clutch anticipate/cruise release switch.

Ok i just got the bottom dash piece off so i could actually see whats going on down there. The clutch sensor and brake sensor that are for the cruise control are already plugged in. They have a red wire and a black wire goign to each. The one im looking at has a tan wire and a black/white wire. I cant see anywhere it would go. Its from the same harness at the other wires (they are all taped together) but its fairly short, maybe 3 or 4 inches, so it cant reach too far....
This is really annoying.
Bill

P.S. any chance this could be an extra wire made for automatics that is just left there on manuals???

Well, when I looked at the manual, it showed those very colored wires for the switch I said. I don't have a manual trans car, so I can't go from that. I do seem to remember that there might be an unused connector between the auto and manual cars. Is everything working ok or is there a problem?

Yes i was just reading about the unused wires... The only problem i have is that cruise control stopped working and my ABS light comes on after a few feet of driving, but i believe that to be my rear sensor. I emailed the person who had the same connector issue to see what he found out, for now im goign to 'assume' that it is an unused wire. It looks like rains coming so i had to put the car back together too
Thanks

Did you ever find out where that tan wire went to?
