External trans cooler, through the radiator first?

When mounting an external trans cooler, is it better to skip the radiator all together? This car will be street driven in very hot summer heat with a/c.

Trany to radiator, radiator to cooler, cooler to trany.
Its a bad idea IMO to bypass the radiator. Air is much less efficient as a cooling media than water, and u'll not get enough cooling if you did in stop and go trafic.

Going to radiator then cooler then back to trans. is suppose to be the most effeicent way.
