extending o2 sensors

I guess i have to extend my 02 sensors since I am putting on longtubes. I just bought two new ones from combination motorsports. Can I just use the wires off the old ones and splice them into the new ones or just get some regular wire from autozone and splice that in there. Tried a search but nothing came up

"You can extend the harness but not the O2 wire itself," I'd agree on that since I tried extending an O2 of my own once, 2 days old I think, never read accurately after that.

If you use a good gauge wire and sauter the connections you will not have any trouble. I did that with my O2 wires and they read fine.

i soldered the O2 wires and though they seemed to read right... one of them bit the dust less then year later so i did the right thing and ordered some extentions from LS1 Speed.
