Exhaust sound issues

My exhaust went from being really loud you semi loud all of a sudden im not sure what it could be. I have a slight tick under acceleration coming from under my hood. I have 1 wire that has a burnt boot but i have had a miss before and no loss of sound. I have had the cat cut off the car so i know its not that i have readjust the rockers replaced the header gaskets. i think the o2's are bad but no SES light. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks in advance
Chris

Wink Re: Exhaust sound issues

Your car is about ready to blow up. The ticking means the clock is counting down the time to when you are lined up by a Mustang and as soon as the race starts, your motor will go KAABOOOOOOM!

But on a serious note, the ticking under acceleration is definitely an exhaust leak. I would guess the Y pipe is leaking somewhere since you recently replaced header gaskets. Also, your flowmaster may be getting clogged with age. I've heard of guys having water buildup in their Flowmasters from condensation. Sounds kinda far fetched, but now might be an excuse to get another Flowmaster or a Hooker Aero Chamber which will flow better.

I must be blind but I didn't see anywhere that said he had a Flowmaster.

I have no idea why your car would be quiet all of the sudden. I was thinking "cat" but then you said it was cut off.

Re: Exhaust sound issues

I've been friends with Chris since high school. Trust me, I know what he has done to his car and what he is doing for his stroker buildup.
