Exhaust ????'s

I am running an LT1 from a 95 caprice in my Jeep and I'm looking for some opinions. Should I stay with the stock manifolds or should I run some headers? Please be aware that I can't run longtubes like I would like to have, because of clutch linkage and driveshaft clearances, so I'd have to stay with some block huggers. What are the benefits if any, from running headers over stock manifolds? Any power gains from shorty headers? Any info would be appreciated.

One thing to consider is placement of the O2 sensors, if you go with a shorty you will have a finicky header flange possibly before the O2 sensor in the pipe , leaks before O2s are heck on the tune.

Any leak with any header before the o2 is going to give false data.

Good point about the tune. I found a set from Nickel's performance for about 165.00. Shorty style. Just wondering about them. Anyone run these headers by chance?
