exhaust question...

This coming winter break, I want to do headers. Right now I've got a 94 z28 with 3" hooker cat with a QTP cutout before the rear axle. I'm looking at headers, non-ceramic pacesetters for $285. I don't want a true-dual system, so I'm going to have to get a Y-Pipe. My question is basically, what all do I need for this?

Headers - $285
Y Pipe - $130 ? (Is there a cheaper one, othre than pacesetter?)
Replacement gaskets - ?
Other bolts - Is there really a point in spending $50 on a set of locking bolts over the hardware that comes with the headers?

What all am I going to need to get?

That y-pipe is the only one that will work with those headers unless you have something custom made which will most likely exceed 130.00 I would also get replacement gaskets as the ones that Pacesetter supplies are pretty cheap and have been known to leak. Alot of us use Felpro 1406s and they run under 20 bucks a pair at most retailers. As for the locking bolts, $50 isn't a waste of money, but on the other hand, I have been using the bolts that Pacesetter supplied and they haven't backed out of me once in the more then a years time they have been installed. I would also consider getting a pair of 12" 02 extension harnesses which will run about 20-25 apiece. Pacesetter supplies you with crimps and wires to extend your 02 harnesses, but this isn't a good idea in my opinion, spend a little extra and get the extension harnesses.

I second that with the 1406 gaskets. The ARP stainless 1" bolts are only like $30 and they are nice to have with the thick flanged headers and are easier to use becasue of the smaller hex head.

Re: exhaust question...

Thanks for the input, I didn't even think about the o2 sensor extension cables, I'll look into them. I can't wait to get all of this finished, my car sounds great now, but with longtubes I know it'll sound so much better.
