exhaust question

ok guys i got a quick question. i have been reading a lot on here and have noticed that everyone seems to run longtubes on there cars. i have the bbk ceramic coated headers and matching y-pipe for my car. i was wandering if it would be worth the time and money to go ahead and make the transistion to longtubes or if those shorty's are alright for now? not sure if it would be money well spent at this stage or not and would like some info if someone can help. the only other engine mods are a moros CAI and cat-back exhaust. the car is an M6 if it matters. thanks

Re: exhaust question

I'd say unless you're doing head/cams and will be reving to the moon - keep it the way it is.

Re: exhaust question

It would be a lot of work but i'd ditch those headers assuming they're the 96-97 style. They're kind of restrictive and i'm sure plug access has to be a nightmare.

Re: exhaust question

they are the 93-95 style i believe, as it has the 93-95 style one cat type exhaust on it. the y-pipe is the part number for the earlier years. but the headers have no part number...how can i tell what the differences are..or what is different about them?

Re: exhaust question

Too much work to justify the small gains to be made. I say wait.
