exhaust popping???

after my z gets ran for 20 or 30 minutes then I shut her off and crank it back up the exhaust will make a popping noise. its not very loud but can be felt if sitting in the car. the car runs perfectly fine other than this and has no codes and does nothing prior to the popping when cranking it up after driving her for a while. I've noticed it does it more often when its colder outside

Re: exhaust popping???

You say it has no codes cause the SES is not lit or you actually scanned it?

Do you ever have a time when it takes long to crank before it fires up?

Re: exhaust popping???

Might wanna run it that twenty minutes and then get it up and get under it while someone else starts it so you can narrow it down or find the problem. Id say exhaust leak of sorts but seems odd its not consistant. Describe your pop with more detail including things like single pop, does it increase with rpm, rough location coming from, just any detail that could help anyone narrow down. If not exhaust leak I thought perhaps injectors leaking down(my guess that would be more of single pop)

its coming out the tailpipe and it goes "pop" maybe 2-3 times every 10 seconds or so when it decides to act up

Re: exhaust popping???

2 things to try. One, disconnect one of the O2s and see if the problem disappears. You will have to reset a code after that. But this will tell you if you have an issue in closed loop or not.

The other is apply a vacuum to the FPR vacuum line to see if it is leaking.
