exhaust opinions?

I'm thinking of having my car programmmed buy a professional. I'm also thinking of changing my exhaust set up. So Im wondering if I should program the car for the exhaust or have the exhaust modified to compliment the program after I see some dyno information?

I have a PCM for Less mail order program for my Stroker.
The exhaust is Hooker LT, Mufflex Y reduced to 3 inch pipe that was crimp bent over the rearend into a Hooker aero chamber muffler single in dual out. I was thinking of going with something better. Maybe keep the Y and toss the reducer in after to I pipe goes over the rear and before the muffler, then run the 3 inch out the rear. Or possibly toss the Y and go with a X pipe and duals.
I just don't know if duals will be over kill or not. My current set up is resting on my Torque arm and making too much noise. The shop that bent the I pipe to hook up the muffler was weak. Im very dissapointed in the current I pipe.
I just don't know what to do to get the most from the car and program.
Should I have the car dynoed or will some laptop scanns gve me enought information to help with my exhaust questions?
