exhaust manifold question
exhaust manifold question
Is there any difference in the exhaust manifolds between the years? (not counting the extrude honed lt4's I already know about them) I did a search but couldn't find an answer. I'm wanting to use a single cat y-pipe with dual cat manifolds if I can.
Re: exhaust manifold question
i beleive there is a mounting flage difference when they switched to dual cats. the flange being the collector flange.
because the driver side cat is bolted directly to the manifold collector where as the passenger side is farther down stream from the collector.
so basically a ypipe from a single cat won't bolt up to a dual cat set of manifolds.

Re: exhaust manifold question
The drivers side exhaust manifold on the 96-97 dual cat cars is different
than those for 93-95. As said previously, the cat bolts up directly to the
manifold for 96-97. I don't have the stock pipes, but I have stock manifolds
so you can take a look at the pics in my sig.

Re: exhaust manifold question
an easy fix would be to install a Stainless Works ORP that fits the dual cat car and just have a highflow cat welded on the end of the Ypipe.
here is a link to the orp... then all you need is the cat
