Exhaust manifold help?
Exhaust manifold help?
I have to replace the passenger side Exhaust manifold because it got damaged due to hitting a piece of concrete that must have fallen out of a truck.
It hit with enough force to break one of the three ears off the flange.
My question is should I put a gasket on when I replace the Exhaust manifold?
I think I should just because of how much of a pain it's going to be to replace.
Thanks,
Chris G.

Re: Exhaust manifold help?
Well if gasket is still good, I guess not, but if it comes off easily enough you might as well replace it and if the felpro 1406 will fit the stock manifold that is the way I would go....on the other hand, if you are going to install SLPs anyway, why don't you do that instead of this band aid measure which will just require more work and money.

I have to get them coated.
And I lost my JOB.

So I have to just replace it because the tick tick tick is driving me crazy.

OK thanks for the help I might be doing it sometime this week.
What do I need to take off to get the passenger side exhaust manifold off.
I would think I don't have to take the exhaust down just disconnect that side and take off the alt and my strut tower brace and I should be good to go.
Only thing is I have no idea how I can fit a torque wrench in there to tighten the bolts up.
Thanks,
Chris G.

I know I have to use antiseize on the bolts going into the aluminum heads so the threads do Gaul on me.
