From what I have heard the LM sounds somewhat rounchie with headers, but thats just what I've heard. I'd would check out the GMMG system, you'll hear nothing bad about it except the price. Best sound without duals in my opinion. http://www.gmmginc.net/html/chamberedexhaust.html
Thats just my suggestion.

I had a hooker catback on my car for about a month. It was much too quiet, probably similar to your SLP catback. I didn't spend money on a catback for it to sound a little louder than stock. I wanted a wicked V8 rumble dammit. So I spent a little more money and got in on a GMMG GP.
The first day I drove with the GMMG I got a headache. I don't know if it was because of the sound or just coincidence. Reguardless, it was loud. Then again it's all what you're used to. Now it seems quiet to me. I've just gotten used to it.
Last week I rolled up next to a '98 Cobra. It was pretty obvious he'd had some work done. I think the gutted interior and the roll cage gave it away. Anyways, at the next stoplight he complimented me on the sound of my Z. He said it's the best sounding Z28 he's ever heard. Which is pretty good considering I'm running stock manifolds, stock cam, and a cat.
My advice to you would be listen to various systems in person. See what you like. They all sound the same on these video clips people put together. The way I see is you listen to your car everytime you drive it. Why not spend a few hundred more and get something you really like? You hear it everyday.

i LOVE my loudmouth as well. i dont know what you guys are talking about my LM never pops ever. and its never raspy unless i bring it past 2200rpm at dead cold start. as far as cat-back systems go i would say loudmouth is perfect.
for the year i have had it i have only came across one other car driving around that has had it also.
all my friends say that my camaro sounds better than any other camaro they have ever heard on the street.

I agree with him. You already have a good ehaust system on there. I would go with an electric Cutout that way you have the option of how loud you want it. There is a GP about to happen on the DMH cutout which is supposed to be the best one.

I have a Blown 383 with Long Tubes, a Y-pipe with dual cats. The DMH cutout that I have was made to fit where my Borla plates orignally went but you can get one made for you set up too. If you dump yous under the car (on the passenger side) near the axle, it should sound even louder.
Thanks,
Claude

I have the LM with midlength headers. it does "pop" if i bring the rmps up then come off the gas (personally i like that sound for some reason) I think the LM is great especially for the money. Be warned...its loud all the time, no turning it off.

are most cut-outs before or after the cat???

remember, you don't have to have a catback to benefit from a cutout, since the cutout bypasses the cat or muffler (whatever is after it). sry if I'm making it sound like you're stupid, I just want to make sure you fully understand what the cutout is for.
