My car has developed an unpleasant odor while driving. It comes and goes, but the car is running great. I will attempt to look under the hood again and try and tighten the headers if loose. The Z is about to hit 97K and for the most part is stock, any ideas what might be causing the funky odor?

 

What does it smell like? That might help us.

 

Yeah, it doesn't smeel of gas or burning oil. I did find the plastic cover that covers the steering linkage melted a bit, is that even needed? I will tighten the headers if they're loose and remove that cover to see if it helps?

 

You're probably smelling the plastic cover. You can get rid of it.
