Yes, you will only need one, and the popular spot is the area right before the axle. In my opinion, a cutout sounds awesome on a stock manifold/ypipe car. You will probably see gains around the 10 rhwp mark, give or take some.

Re: exhaust cut-out

pm sent.
Im actually selling a 2.5 inch QTP electric cutout, wiring, switch, and y pipe. I bought it new from a member here, never installed it, now I have bigger exhaust and cant use it. So, I hope someone else can use it here. PM me if interested. ITS BRAND NEW.

It will fit stock sized exhaust pipe.

It does sound great on a stock y-pipe and manifolds, even better if you have dual cats. If you already have a catback its not gona net you as much gain but I think its around 5rwhp on a stock motor/exhaust.

Re: exhaust cut-out

For F-Bodies we recomend you stick with a single 3" Set up, and run it in the I-Pipe right before the rear axle! Any muffler shop can install it.

Right now I have a single 3" on my stock manifold/y-pipe/magnaflow 95' Z28 and Im love it. I can't wait to put on our new Long Tubes that will be out shortly and see how this baby sounds!

Re: exhaust cut-out

Not true, any muffler shop can't install it. I was rejected by two shops. One because of the dangers of welding so close to the floorpan (idiots...) and one shop because they couldn't find a place to put it. The third shop put it in, but in the wrong place (see my "I hate muffler shops..."' post) so I took it back with a picture from this site to show where it goes.

Sounds in-****ing-credible.
