Exhaust?
Exhaust?
Okay, I have a dual cat car in an emissions county, so I want to stay street legal until I can convince the BMV for collecter plates. I was thinking either Mac headers or SLP headers, their mid-lengths, mac offers a y-pipe, while SLP does not for their dual cat headers. I am split between these, and may get longtubes if I find a deal I can't pass up. On cat-backs, I was thinking the loudmouth, I don't care about loudness, just droning. I had a lot of droning on my old Camaro, and it gets old quick. I was thinking either the Hooker or the Loudmouth, I don't want raspy either. The most the car will see will be bolt-ons and maybe a torque converter. What do you guys think I should go with?

Re: Exhaust?
My friend has a dual cat car. We are in cali so it is hard to keep emissions. His is street legal, he got the slp shorties w/o y-pipe and has a magnaflow cat-back. He got a good power gain from it, and it sounds nice too. I have also heard very good things about hooker cat-backs. I have heard with the loudmouth and full exhaust it sounds horrible. Also if you go with shorty headers get the slp's very nice product. I don't know about mac mids though.
Re: Exhaust?
Thanks for your reply, I was also considering the Magnaflow as well. I don't really want to get the loudmouth, I think if I just went with a cat-back, but I want to replace those crappy manifolds.

Re: Exhaust?
Back before i had my cam i passed with my flp's with the cats in. I know here in illinois if you're an obdII car you don't have to do roller emissions, they just plug into your computer port to make sure all your emissions equipment is working. If it is you pass. I'm not sure if it's the same out there but i'd check. If it is i'd go with whatever you want.
Re: Exhaust?
i have the SLP shorty's and love them and their quality- but if u go with them make sure to get locking bolt kit- they tend to back out - i needed to stay emmisions legal for a salvage inspection and these went through no problem- currently i have the loudmouth sitting no my floor to be bolted on this weekend- will let u know how it sounds
