Engine stutter

1996 Z28 M6, about 104k on the clock. It started about a week or so ago... i'd start off in 1st gear and let the clutch out all the way, and it would dog out like the clutch was slipping, then catch itself a little bit and take off right. I thought the clutch was slipping because i have a bad flywheel, but it hadn't happened again for another day or so. I was in 5th gear at about 50mph, a hill came up so i put my foot into it a little bit to accelerate, and it started bucking like a cow with a bad temper.. but when i get off it and drive around like ole granny, it's fine. But whenever i have to get up to speed quicker than granny mode, it like stutters and skips, like a cylinder or two arent' firing. This just started out of the blue... any ideas?

Re: Engine stutter

I would say check 02's, maf, and make sure youre getting sufficient spark and fuel. Otherwise i just went through the same thing and it was my Optispark. Same symptoms as you and it was mostly between idle and 2500 RPM's. Above that it was fine. Before i fixed it it was even starting to sputter during gear changes (A4 car) Good Luck and let us know....also toss some fuel injector cleaner in there if you havent lately.
