the TB on the camaro is 48mm... vette is 52.

the oil pan is different on both cars...exhaust manifolds are also different.

External? Intake & Exhaust...

Internal? 2 bolt vs. 4 bolt.

I think that about sums it up.
The difference is pretty neglidgible.

Hmm...Would it be a good idea to "upgrade" my LT1 to the actually Vette engine? And how much would that cost? Thanks.

Cams are for the most part the same, although there are some variations by year.

Just do exhaust modds such as headers and a good cat back and put in a nice cam and that alon will outweigh the Vette motor by far. I see no need to upgrade to a Vette motor, the only advantage would be 4 bolt mains IMO

That's true. What stainless steel catback you recommend?

Magnaflow is the cheapest I beleave...Corsa, Borla and GMMG are expensive as far as stainless goes. Hooker is aluminized but it is a good value and sounds and flows great.

I'll probably just get Magnaflow. I haven't been able to decide. What kind of gain can I expect? Like 20 crank hp and 10 rwhp?

You'll see about a 10rwhp with full exhaust.

When you say full exhaust, you must be only talking about the cat-back.

If you do the real full exhaust (Headers and catback), you are looking at 25-35 rwhp.

Are you sure about the TB? They look the same to me, though I never measured.

As far as internal engine components: cam and the 4-bolt mains are the only differences that I am aware of. The cam differs by 1 or 2 degrees depending on the year. I have the specs somewhere if anyone really wants to know. The rated hp difference is part hype and part real. The real difference is primarily due to the better exhaust and intake system on the 'vette. The cam may account for a couple of hp at most.
