EWP fuse?

I have heard a couple of people having problems with the inline fuse that comes with the meziere electric water pump (and I'm guessing CSR as well). I was wondering if I should go ahead and replace it with a better inline fuse from Radioshack? Any comments or experience with this? Thanks.

Re: EWP fuse?

Mine failed this year. The fuse didn't blow, the fuse holder melted. I caught it right away. I made my own with 2 spades and a blade fuse, been fine ever since.

Re: EWP fuse?

I have a new Meziere electric LT pump and I don't like the looks of the "small" blade fuse that came with the wiring harness provided. It looks like the blades are too small to handle the rated 20 amps and I can see why the fuse socket melted. I also plan to install the "standard" size blade fuse and holder when I build a complete wiring harness w/ relay for the electric pump. Also, I'm using a Borg Warner relay, part number R682 for the pump, which is a very common relay application.
