Castrol Syntech 10w-40 and Lucas synthetic oil stablizer. 65 psi cold and 35 psi hot at idle with a 950 rpm idle. 55-60 psi cruising and 55 psi at WOT. This is on a 355ci LT1 with 5,000 miles on the clock.

Re: Everyone get in and post your oil pressure!!!
Castrol Syntec 0w-30 German I have been running this oil for the last 30,000 miles on this car with good results from oil analysis. My car has almost 124,000 miles on it and it has a cold idle oil pressure of about 40-45 psi and a hot idle oil pressure of around 20-25 psi the hot idle is at about 550 rpms. Under normal cruising speeds (60-65 mph @ 1,900 rpms) the oil pressure is about 40psi and WOT it stays about 55-60 psi. My oil pressures were a little lower when I was running 5w-30 mobil but mobil is really more comparable to a 20 weight. I have also used Mobil 1 0w-40 but I have been more happy with the Castrol.

I'm no "expert"... not by Frank Lloyd Wright's definition anyways.

I do know Redline states that their racing oils (30 wt is designated as such) have exceptional low temperature lubricating properties on a scale similar to 10w30. I also know that Redline does not recommend their "race" grades for street cars but that has a lot to do with the additives they use which aren't good for catalytic converter life. Those same additives (zinc and moly in particular) however ARE great for heavy wear components like roller lifters and camshafts. I'll trade that for the cats. Besides, I stay on top of my tune and I don't run a ton of overlap. My car probably runs cleaner than many I see on the expressway every evening.
Hope I've explained myself to your satisfaction Z-Rate.

Re: Everyone get in and post your oil pressure!!!
Just to throw something at you, most of the tachs in these cars are off by 100-200 RPM. Ie. My tach reads 1k @ idle while the computer says 850. That said...
850 rpm idle
~50 psi cold
~30-38 psi warm
~40-45 psi @ 65 mph, 1550 RPM
???? @ redline
Mobile One 10w 30
MG, aren't racing oils less likely to froth up, similar to the oil I use in my bike? Just curious.
