I just bought a Crane HI-6TR (the blue one that comes with the vortech packaged) and my timing retard box has 6 wires coming out of it ... looked up the wiring harness and it says 3 of them have to goto a MAP sensor .. im assuming for boost timing retard

though the **** on the retard control shows 0-20 degrees ... can i just use this box as an "on demand" retard ? or does it have to be hooked up to a MAP sensor and controlled by boost ?

You can use it as a demand retard. I never hooked it up to my MAP sensor??? Dunno what your set up is but I used the retard when the nitrous came on. Other wise it was off. I had it wired so that it pulled timing when ever the WOT switch was activated. HTH
