Ever see an optispark full of oil?
I just replaced my opti because the car was running like crap the last few months. When I took the old one off and layed it down a BUNCH of oil ran out the hole where the electrical plug goes in, I mean like a cup of oil ran out. How can oil get in there??

On a 95 my best guess woul;d be a combination of leaking oil seal in the timing cover and a vacuum leak at the back of the opti allowing it to suck the oil in. Certainly an odd problem, every one I have ever pulled has been bone dry, even the ones that were covered in oil from leaks at the WP seal.
Well this thing did have a leak at the front, everything was covered in oil. Both O-rings on the opti shaft were completely gone.
Hopefully it will run better if I ever get it together again.

If it was in the well where the electrical connection is (and not inside the opti), it might be just from a poor seal on that connector (and your oil leak, of course). I would be taking a look at the harness connector.
